About

Hey there! I’m Sebastian, a German born chemist and photographer who moved to Colorado in 2024.

My hobbies include besides photography anything outdoor related, like hiking, biking and skiing.

I’m currently working as Research Associate/Postdoc in the Strauss-Boltalina Lab at Colorado State University. My research is focused on functional materials. My PhD research was focused on surfaces and materials science, specifically on electrochemical bio sensors. Nowadays,  my focus has expanded to designing optoelectronic materials that can be used in optical devices or as conductive materials in sensors. For this I build flow reactors to use them for photochemical transformations to synthesize novel materials containing fluorinated functional groups.

I’m also working on a project to introduce green chemistry (affordable and sustainable into education). For more information go to LightFlow Labs.

If you’re interested in any of that, have a look at my website. If you want to know more, just shoot me an email or connect on social media.
